Being Grateful No Matter What

During this time of the year it is often very hard to remember to stay grateful because we are continually bombarded with materialistic and consumer driven messages. It leaves the majority of people feeling like they are lacking something in their lives. A lot of them feel as though they are less than whole at times because of the human tendency to seek out satisfaction from the outside world or exterior inputs.

No Nonsense Approach:

I fall prey to these messages too! I feel like I am a very enlightened being but I still fall victim to my human weaknesses. My approach to these feelings is to be grateful everyday for at least one thing when I wake, once during the day (at dinner time) and one thing that happened during the day when I am about to go to sleep. It really seems to help me get through the feelings of lack and alienation. I also love the dinner time gratitude because I get to listen to everyone else in the family tell what they are grateful for too. It's like they feel the same way I do and it makes me even more grateful. It's like freebie gratitude! Be disciplined and you will see the results of this practice over time.
